The death of my website............

I am currently taking my website apart as it needs a well overdue update. It has nothing on it at the moment as i am trying to find the time to work on the new one. I will hopefully have it up and running before mid October and will let you all know when it is ready. Here are a few random illustrations i have drawn over the last few weeks for you to enjoy in the meantime.

Worm

This is a drawing i put together quickly as i realised i hadn't uploaded anything to my blog in a while. I am going to start to up my out put in order to keep myself motivated. I have also changed my blog header which i am pretty happy with.

Mekong Images

These are the images of the Mekong Red Dragon Rice packet. I am really pleased with how it worked out. It is a nice clean, simple design but i still think it is bold enought to stand out on a shelf.

Mekong Red Dragon Rice

Hey i am back from my travels to South America full of inspiration. I had been working on a project before i left for a Vietnamese company called Mekong Red Dragon Rice. I was asked to do the illustrations by an amazing Graphic Designer called Scott Lambert. I had to produce 4 illustrations that would show the story of how the rice is grown, transported and sold along the banks of the Mekong river. I decided to draw the images using lots of marks and lines. I also tried to make them look as bold as possibe as they had to stand out in order to make the product eye catching. I am really happy with the final result and hope to work on similiar projects in the future. The product is now available in Vietnames supermarkets, really cool to think i can see my work in Vietnam.

Strawberry Fields

This illustration is for Gen Ryan my former class mate at ECA. She is putting together a series of images based on the song Strawberry Fields forever by the Beatles. I didnt really know what to do for it so i just created this Strawberry monster that eats people. I am wanting to get back into the routine of making up characters so this was good practice.

Woof Woof

I have finished the 11 images for the short childrens story about Woof Woof and the pirates from Eel Pie Island. The story was written by Stephen Tague who asked me to illustrate the text. It was great fun as i think the characters are really enjoyable to draw. I think it is a really nice story and i hope it will be a success in the future. There may also be more Woof Woof storys in the pipeline so keep a look out on my blog for details.

The Skinny

Hi i recently got to the last three of the Skinny T-Shirt competition. I unfortunately didn't win but i did get my image put in this months magazine with my website details. I hope this will give me a boost in site views. It is a good thing to put in my portfolio so i am really happy with how it went. I think i will try to enter a lot more competitions in the future.
